New Dalka was started in the summer of 2017 by Haroon Mohamoud. A history graduate, he first came across Duhul’s publication during research for his dissertation, which he wrote on contemporary Somali history. With a keen interest in current affairs, his analysis of last summer’s Somali elections was published on English, Somali and German platforms. He has written for a number of publications, including the Telegraph and served an internship with emel magazine. The magazine is now edited by a number of editors and has an international community of readers and contributors.
